MY STORY

I am a Management Consultant. A husband, a Father, and a Son. I live in Naperville, Illinois.  I was born near Austin, Texas and grew up in the Houston area. I graduation from the University of Houston and am an ardent college sports fan.

I have a wonderful family. A wife, two bright successful children and now four awesome grandchildren. Life can't get any better than that. My wife and I spend much time with our family and love to travel together. We have been fortunate to see a lot of the world and the growth of our family.

I am a hands-on business executive with a broad base of experience in the healthcare and finance industries. I have over 35 years of business experience, of which the last 13 years have been spent in healthcare, acquisitions and business improvement.

My work-life start early. I worked in the family retail business as a teenager and until my early twenties. There, I learned the value of hard work and independence. Thanks, to my wife, I got my Finance and Accounting degree while working during the day and studying at night.

In the early eighties, I began my career in the financial services industry. I worked as a management trainee at a large Federally charted credit union and soon was able to manage my own credit union. I quickly learned all of the fundamental aspects of the financial transaction business, grew the credit union and learned how to successfully manage investments. During this time I started developing a deep interest in business computing and network dynamics.
After 7 years in my position with Texas Star, I got the opportunity to expand my horizons. I completed my degree in finance and accounting and my career was in full-bloom. I took on my first consulting engagement in 1989 by helping two entrepreneurs sell their small credit union processing company. I ran the numbers, learned valuation methodologies and helped negotiate and close the transaction. I was then asked by Fiserv's CEO to come to Chicago and run the newly-acquired business unit.

My years at Fiserv were my most formative. As a young manager of the business unit, I was able to get involved in all aspects of the business. I learned how to grow...and restructure businesses. I learned business development, software development and the nuances of acquisitions and acquisition integration.

Since my time at Fiserv, I have been involved with a number of entrepreneurial pursuits. I was instrumental in
developing a technology consulting firm and managing a start-up that developed community-based business process software for the Worker's Compensation industry. I spent seven years helping a Chicago-based Physical Therapy organization position themselves for sale; helped them sell the company and then I helped grow the company through acquisitions.

Now, I am working on a strategy to build and grow a business platform in the disability management industry. I have trained for this all my life.
